For HPC some applications - including manufacturing, research and electronic design - traditional shared file systems, such as NFS, are unable to handle the data throughput necessary for today’s large HPC clusters. Scalable cluster file systems are the solution - offering parallel data access to hundreds of nodes and petabytes of storage.
